Molvania will play host of the first UCEM conference of Waiting Room Medicine. The hectic schedule and workshops has been developed to provide experienced practitioners with an up-to-date, eminence-based, yet practical, overview of important and controversial topics in Waiting Room Medicine.

With increasing ED crowding and ever increasing waiting the Utopian College has produced guidelines to improve patient comfort and safety and to begin diagnosis and treatment for those stable and well enough to enjoy time within the waiting room – Waiting Room Medicine.

Spaces of waiting exist in each of our lives, sometimes quite literally (a doctor’s office, the ER), while at other times, they exist only in the abstract (waiting for a better time to come, for happiness, or love). The Waiting Room hovers somewhere between the concrete and the ephemera. Using the conventions and aesthetics of waiting rooms, I’ve created a space that is simultaneously real and unreal; a meditation on, and exploration of, time, waiting, and fate.
