This is the official textbook reference list. The expected responses for MCQ must be found within these tomes of wisdom – it is therefore useful to refer to the content for the finer points or to define the contentious issues. I still recommend Harwood-Nuss‘ Clinical Practice of Emergency Medicine as the most comprehensive, accurate and useful text to refine your understanding of the practice of Emergency Medicine – although this text will not help you pass the MCQ section!
ACEM recommended journals
In addition, the following journals regularly contain articles relevant to emergency medicine, and should be used as a resource for the most recent knowledge in the medical literature. The best way to search the online resources is through GoPubMed.org. There are a growing number of alternative medical search engines utilizing semantic derivation and folksonomic search functionality to refine your searching experience.

Which major text (ie Tintinalli vs Cameron vs Dunn) do you recommend as the most efficient text to base your exam study on?
To be honest I am not the best person to ask.
My preferred text is Harwood and Nuss, it is written in the most SAQ/VAQ friendly manner, contains all the important information and is the easiest to read and digest -- it was my staple bedtime read during FACEM preparation.
This won't help you with your MCQ though as the questions are cross-referenced with Tintinalli and Cameron.
Hope this helps…
