Causes of Diarrhoea
Four mechanisms of diarrhoea
- Secretory – e.g. toxins, endocrine causes, neoplastic, drugs.
- Inflammatory – e.g. invasive infections, IBD, radiation
- Increased motility – e.g. drugs.
- Osmotic diarrhoea – e.g. laxatives ,malabsorption, bacterial overgrowth, dumping syndrome
