Methotrexate

The toxic effects of this antimetabolite are employed therapeutically in the treatment of a variety of neoplastic conditions, psoriasis and rheumatoid arthritis. Toxicity is not described following acute overdose but is severe toxicity occurs following repeated supratherapeutic dosing. Folinic acid (leucovorin) is used in selected cases
