Hydrocarbons

Hydrocarbons, whether ingested or inhaled, can cause rapid onset of CNS depression, seizures and (rarely) cardiac dysrhythmias. Aspiration can lead to chemical pneumonitis. Other end-organ effects are uncommon and usually associated with long-term occupational exposure.
