Alcohol – Ethanol

Ethanol causes CNS depression that is synergistic with other CNS depressants and potentially lethal. It is frequently co-ingested with other agents during deliberate self-poisoning and the history of alcohol co-ingestion may not forthcoming unless specific enquiry is made. Care is supportive.
