Excitement building to fever pitch with the final preparations for Australian Medical Student Association (AMSA) conference in Hobart from Sunday 4th July to Sunday 11th July 2010.
AMSA Convention this year has proven more popular than ever! The registration system processed the first 800 in under 5 minutes, selling out in 4 minutes and 2 seconds. Disappointed? – fear not as some partial registrations have just been released.
I am really looking forward to discussing the implications of future information technology development and the use of social media in medical education. Hopefully the technological wizardry of the conference organizers will extend to facilitating a live streaming conversation with fellow emergency physician and founder of Emergency Medicine: Reviews and Perspectives (EM:RAP), Dr Mel Herbert on the Tuesday morning.
In addition I am looking forward to hearing words of wisdom from notable speakers such as Sir Gustav Nossal, the only man I know with more post-nominal letters than a scrabble board (AC KtCBE MB BS BSc(Med) PhD HonMDMainz HonMDNcl HonMDLeeds HonDScSyd HonDScQld HonLLDMon FRCP FRACP FRACMA FRACOGHon FRSE FTS PresAA FRS)
