Latest 2010 Australasian Resuscitation Guidelines
The Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) and the New Zealand Resuscitation Council (NZRC) have, for the first time, recently co-published joint resuscitation guideline statements. This bi-national collaboration facilitates the efficient use of resuscitation guidelines by the health workforce which is highly mobile between the two countries and in the shared post graduate medical training programs.
The revised joint resuscitation guidelines are the result of an intensive 5-year review of the scientific literature on resuscitation, organized and supported by the International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR).
These co-badged guidelines have been available on the ARC and NZRC websites since December 2010, but the Adult BLS and ALS guidelines and the Paediatric and Newborn guidelines were published in consecutive issues of Emergency Medicine Australasia during 2011 to be MedlineR citable. All of the guidelines have now been combined into a free full-text online virtual issue that can be accessed in full from the Emergency Medicine Australasia website
