“Take my hand” Darkness proffered “Walk with me, through the blackness of incomprehension.”
I knew Darkness was not to be trusted, but I felt compelled to follow, driven forward through the mist of incomprehension on an apathetic tide of insecurity and bewilderment.
“Speak” Darkness whispered.
I lay there mute, held silent by an imperceptible presence desiccating the words from my thoughts.
“Run” Darkness goaded.
Immobilized by fear and incapacitated by deafening silence, I remain motionless.
I lie here still, swathed in the gloaming of regret, numbed and impassive by the calling of Darkness once more.
