Getting very excited about this November…as conference fever sets in
If all goes to plan various members of the LITFL team will be traveling and speaking around the globe – spreading the word about the use of social media in education
So far on the agenda we have…San Fransisco, Cape Town, Sydney and Molvania. Hopefully this will give us a chance to catch up in person with as many online friends accumulated since the inception of LITFL
USC Essentials X
Finally, a chance to meet up with the awesome Mel Herbert MD of EMRAP fame.
San Francisco will be the host of the tenth annual Essentials of Emergency Medicine. The conference is developed to provide experienced practitioners with an up-to-date, evidenced-based, yet practical, overview of important and controversial topics in Emergency Medicine. Keep up with the latest literature and strategies focused on optimizing clinical practice and improving patient outcomes.

ACEM ASM 2011
The 28th Annual Scientific Meeting of the Australasian College for Emergency Medicine will be the largest and most prestigious gathering of emergency specialists in Australia. It will take place on the 20th – 24th November 2011 at the Convention and Exhibition Centre in Darling Harbour, Sydney.
The program is being organised as we speak, and looks very good [PDF]
EMSSA 2011
South Africa hosts the third biennial Emergency Medicine in the Developing World conference to be held at the Cape Town International Convention Centre from 15 to 17 November 2011.
The theme will be Education and Training in Emergency Medicine in the Developing World and will host internationally renowned speakers from around the globe including speakers include Profs. Joe Lex, Joe O’Neill, Judith Tintinalli, Mike English, Rob Rogers and Lisa Noble.

UCEM Conference in Waiting Room Meidcine
This triennial Utopian College Conference is scheduled for 2011…although the organizing committee have already laundered spent the funds on lavish parties. I really hope it does happen, the schedule of speakers looks very impressive, as do the workshops, the leisure activities and I am sure the talks will be stimulating as ever!

The Society of Neuromuscular Sciences have anual conferences in August and January with a very eclectic mix. Unfortunately, they’re in Thredbo and Niseko respectively, so you have to put up with snow.
Thanks Roger
Will have to look into those conferences and see if I can make it around the world trip!
Remember the Wanaka Medical conference being particularly challenging as well…
