  • Pass Criteria
    • Consider the possibility of occult physical causes of crying including NAI/ neglect and feeding difficulty.— a directed physical and developmental assessment was required
    • A directed history re crying + any associated symptoms
    • Consider that the presentation may be failure to cope (including post natal depression)
    • Low threshold for admission to assess/ maternal respite
    • Suitable follow up if discharged
  • Features of unsuccessful answers
    • Failure to consider both physical illness and social issues as above as possible causes for the presentation.
