Toxicology Handbook

This very very long year of writing is drawing to a close…

The Life in the Fast lane team have had great fun putting together blog posts, interrogative questions, clinical cases, frivolous trivia and putting our slant on the evidence behind emergency medicine literature. However, as well as the blog writing there has been a little bit of book writing and it is exciting to see the final stages drawing toward ‘closure‘ on the four books completed this year.

First cab off the rank is the Toxicology Handbook second edition, due for release at the end of November 2010. I will write later more specifically about the book and how it will integrate into the textbook section of the website …but was too excited about the arrival of the proposed textbook cover in my inbox not to share!

Liberation is a long word.

I think I am up to Lib.. at this stage, but with the summer heat drawing me back to the surf I am sure it will not be too long before I find the rest of the letters!

…but remember Liberation begets Satire…roll on Molvania 2011

  1. End of November? I thought it was the end of October…? In which case, I’m not sure what’s waiting for me at the post office, because I was pretty sure this was it! :-/ I do love the cover, Mike! It’s very pretty, and may also help identify the toxic substance (“Mrs Smith, can you point to the part that’s the same colour as the pills you took?”)

I plan to read it on the plane to Molvania. :)

Maybe it is your Molvanian Dancing Shoes waiting for you at the Post Office?
Really looking forward to seeing it in the flesh…pretty sure that it is only going to press this weekend…but should arrive in time for your Molvanian experience!

      • Alas, I have not yet ordered my Molvanian Dancing Shoes! It was a different book waiting for me at the post office. I’ll be looking forward to the Tox handbook though -- it’s the first book I ever used on the wards, and I’ve been meaning to get my own copy ever since.
