Sight for sore eyes in ICU?

Imagine you are awakening from a prolonged slumber in the intensive care unit following a motor vehicle crash.

Your family has waited patiently for the effects of the morphine and ketamine in your bloodstream to wane so that they could be here to see this moment. The moment your eyes finally open. They have even brought you gifts.

Amid the glare of the overhead lights emerges this ghostly image of a strange levitating entity at the end of your bed:
