Humour is an early victim, defeated by stress and seemingly infinite demands.
It explains why the much maligned Y Generation are wary of making the same personal sacrifices as their forebears. Those who grumble along hospital corridors wondering how to get through the day, having parted with humour many moons ago.
Better ask the intern about pulmonary hypertension.
