Ucem are proud to announce a new technique for the management of constipation in the emergency department. We like to call it ‘hemicorporeal evacuation’.

I can’t believe that the consultant is actually in the room
I am sure the UCEM would advocate intern to perform procedure, resident to directly supervise, registrar to observe from the bedside and the consultant to supervise remotely
One of the nice things about EMS is that this is not in our scope of practice.
On the other hand, it could be for management, but they only do self-hemicorporeal evacuation. Unfortunately, they always seem to be both up hill and up wind of the employees.
Another nurse gets sucked up the back passage!!
