As part of the ongoing review into Waiting Room design, the Council Executive of the UCEM would like to thank fondling members for the myriad of practical suggestions presented during the recent ‘Waiting Treatment Forum‘.
One of the leading presentations at the WTF summit came from the Korean Chapter of the UCEM. Following 6 months of intensive research the KorChUCEM devised a mathematical model to allow ‘hands free, fully clothed gynaecological consultations’ within the Waiting Room. The Council Executive are, needless to say, very excited with the potential of this model and will be trialling it on buses and at train stations over the Christmas period.
Additional suggestions will be integrated into the formal proposal for the ‘Waiting Room Organisation National Guidelines‘ by the subcommittee underlings and be presented to the almost important working party in January before formal proposal acceptance by the Far too Serious Committee sometime in the year or so.

I applaud KorChUCEM for its efforts in improving waiting room medicine, but could this be applied to the predominantly obesive population that lives on our side of the equator?
Physical characteristics of our obesive differ from the subjects above. The acute angle (ACB) would need to be decreased while a corresponding widening of the field of vision may be necessary with a slight abduction of the hips.
With some fine tuning, bus stop gynaecology could reach its full potential. A “Google Street View” type vehicle trawling major arterial roads would bring health care quite literally into the laps of bus patrons.
Hopefully they will be facing the right way at the time.
