Unfortunately, there simply are not enough psychiatrists in the world.

Psychiatric consultations are renowned for being interminably long (at least through the eyes of an attentionally-challenged ED doc) and, afterward, a life story needs to be obsessively written down in Tolstoy-esque fashion. To make matters worse, psychiatrists really hate interruptions. This is understandable, after all, the slightest interruption can be be a roadblock to effective communication and has the potential to completely derail the therapeutic relationship…

It is no wonder that getting hold of a psychiatrist can be tricky.
