- The overall pass rate for this question was 38/57 (66.7%).
- Pass Criteria
- Examiners expected that candidates would know the ACEM ATS threshold percentages in order to adequately describe the emergency department performance in part (a).
- Part (b) required a structured approach to identifying the large number of factors which may impact on waiting times plus some reasonable strategies to attempt an improvement.
- Features of unsuccessful answers
- Failed candidates did not show knowledge of triage category benchmarks and failed to put forward more than one or two strategies to improve performance.
