My favourite Medical Calculator – MDcalc.com has been upgraded. Always a bit tricky to keep up to date when completing a residency programme, but @grahamwalker has added some helpful new updates including:
- A new way to search on the site
- A bunch of labeling errors corrected for non-US colleagues (sorry for taking so long, rest of the world!)
The URL search function is certainly a useful addition, but I am still waiting for the iPhone application to be ready? I am currently evaluating a few of the current iPhone Medical Calculators, but would love to see MDcalc added to the options…
- MedCalc from M. Tschopp & P. Pfiffner (Free)
- Available in English, French, German and Spanish
- Medical Calculator from DoctorCalc ($1.19)
- Mediquations ($5.99) (212 equations – and rising)
- MediMath ($5.99) (135 Medical calculations (v2.7))
- QxMD (Mostly Free)
- Some great tools for cardiology, haematology, nephrology, gastroenterology
- iDocTools
- ABG calculator (Free)
- Uses predicted not calculated values
- Simple basic interpretation possible only

Thanx for sharing this…And i really liked the mnemonics in mdcalc.com…fun way to remember things:)

A few comments regarding your list of iPhone Medical Calculators:
“MedCalc from DoctorCalc (Free)”
This product is neither free (it’s US $0.99) nor is it called MedCalc but Medical Calculator. For MedCalc, see below…
“MedCalc from MedServer (Free)”
MedCalc (this time the name is right) is not by MedServer but by M. Tschopp & P. Pfiffner (by the name of the 2 developers). MedServer is just one of the domain names that mirrors the MedCalc website.
Apologies for the error and thanks for the clarification Mathias.
