How long is Too Long?

Sometimes you just feel like a change.

Like a PEG (Percutaneous Endoscopic Gastrostomy) tube I thought that Life in the Fast Lane hosted by Medbrains.net would last me my whole blogging lifetime.

The initial blog was designed to collate some lectures, air my thoughts and start to display clinical images and cases from a collection of over 120,000 multimedia elements gathered over the last 15 years. The initial platform performed its function well, but times have changed and the outer casing is in need of an overhaul to maintain the information delivery.

It was not through organic degradation, decomposition or ageing that Life in the Fast Lane has moved on – instead this re-birth is as a result of the unexpected survival of the original blog and audience demand for improved access to a more structured multimedia and clinical lecture archive.

To this end we (the authors) have been reborn, here on our little planet of LifeInTheFastLane.com. The rejuvenation process is almost complete and once the older posts have been reviewed, updated and archived – we will be back on track.

The next stage in development will be to:

  • Further develop the multimedia archive
  • Formalize the ECG library with an initial burst of 200 high quality ECGs (thanks to Dr Peter Allely )
  • Provide more accurate medical illustrations for the lectures (thanks to Dr Tor Ercleve )
