The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) has teamed up with Unbound Medicine to create an online reference source for pediatricians – allowing access to the system from computer, or wirelessly via PDA’s and smart phones.
Pediatric Care Online provides practical ‘point of care’ workflow information to assist in the daily management of pediatric patients. The core resources for the site are:
- AAP Textbook of Pediatric Care (standard reference – sample chapter on Fever of Unknown Origin)
- AAP’s Red Book® (over 200 childhood infectious diseases)
- Bright Futures (AAP health supervision guidelines)
Pediatric Care Online allows you to quickly access multiple pediatric resources, all in one place, for the most recent clinical information you need at the point-of-care. The website hosts a medical image library, pediatric care updates, Drug Index, point-of-care reference articles, and many more.

It’s really impressive how much the web is changing the medical field lately. It’s like everytime I go online there’s something new being launched.
I guess the effects can only be positive!
