Professor Anthony F T Brown

It is with great pleasure that I welcome Professor Anthony FT Brown to ‘Life in the Fast Lane’. Prof Brown has kindly agreed to share his evidence based critical care lecture series with the wider medical community through this blog.

Prof Anthony F.T. Brown (MB ChB, FRCP, FRCS(Ed), FACEM, FCEM) is currently a senior Emergency Physician at the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital (Australia) and Professor at the University of Queensland. Tony is is a dedicated emergency physician; a committed and enthusiastic clinical educator, and lifelong friend.

Always the consummate professional, Tony is a proud husband and father; medical author and mentor to many. His world renowned text – Emergency Medicine Diagnosis and Management – is now in its fifth edition and he has recently completed an Australian adaptation of On Call Principles and Protocols for Elsevier.

Areas of special interest include anaphylaxis; resuscitation/airway management; medical education; medical editing; and medico-legal medicine. He is currently the Editor-in-Chief of the national journal Emergency Medicine Australasia – EMA.

Prof Browns lecture series aims to contextualize the most pertinent evidence based information pertaining to acute medical emergencies in summative statements. The series is practical, didactic and dynamic – enjoy!
